Comments Thread For: Prograis Picks Taylor, Hooker Favors Ramirez In Title Unification Fight

Two dethroned 140-pound champions each chose the man that beat him to win a title unification bout between those unbeaten boxers who'll eventually fight for supremacy within their division. Regis Prograis picked Josh Taylor to beat Jose Ramirez if they fight for Taylor's IBF and WBA 140-pound championships and Ramirez's WBC and WBO belts. Maurice Hooker, who is supposed to oppose Prograis next, predicted Ramirez would win that bout.

Taylor schooled Prograis. That fight was not close 8-4 at best! & Lmao, Ramirez would knock Prograis out of the ring. And Taylor isnt going to fight Ramirez like he did Prograis eith no respect. Ramirez TKOs Taylor in 8rds.

Each guy picking the guy that beat them. It's a pride thing.

"Schooled" is too much. I was there and even though I scored the fight 9 - 3 for Josh, lots of the rounds were very close but the diffrence imo was Josh imposing his will on Prograis - helped largely by his size and length. Taylor should be a 147 fighter but he's enjoying his run at 140. You're entitled to say x will smash y, but to say Regis was schooled is over the top. On the night, I did not see that unfold at all.

By the time the sport get's back on schedule we would have lost the best part of a year, so why not just match Taylor Vs Ramirez for later this year (unification's out trump mandatory's) with Postel/Khongsong on the undercard? Or is that to simple & fan friendly?!!..

9-3 is what i scored it the first time, i seen 8-4 the second. There was a middle round that was close.

And yes i call that a schooling in Ring GENERALship. U dont have tp box ring post to ring post to "school" some1. Taylor held the middle of the ring and never let go. He also landed first (most exchanges) and agressed. Taylor won bcuz he made Prograis fight his fight. Prograis was frustrated and Taylor was determined, this was very telling on a majority of exchanges.
