  • Comments Thread For: Porter: I Don't Think Thurman Is Same Fighter He Was When I Fought Him

Shawn Porter can't differentiate between who gave him the tougher fight between Errol Spence and Keith Thurman but is confident who would win should they ever collide. The former two-time welterweight titlist came up just short in separate fights with the two while both were undefeated champs. That status still remains for Spence (26-0, 21KOs) who is now a unified welterweight titlist following a hard-fought 12-round split decision win over Porter last September in Los Angeles, California.

Mikey Garcia vs. Keith Thurman would be a decent fight!

Of course Porters gonna say that. In other words, “I had Spence at his VERY best, and there was never any doubt about that!”...”there was even a judge who thought I won!..er, uh, nobody had EVER put it on Spence like me!”....”Spence may say he’s just the same, but how could he be after fighting me and going thru such a devastating car crash?!?!”

Bud should now put the friendship aside and take it to the “wild in shape street fighter.” ....Spence said Porter was “wild” and had “no technique or anything.”.....also said he fought like a “football player” and regularly fought “dirty.”......Bud should now exploit all of that...Bud and Porter can still be friends afterwards - if Porter still wants to be....

Thurman clearly isn't the same fighter. He went from beating Garcia and porter back to back and then after the injury and lay off, he was nearly ko'd by the ultimate journeyman in josesito lopez. That's why pac picked Thurman. At 40, it was a good opportunity to get a belt from the least risky option.

Run Time has been iffy since Luis Collazo had him going with that body shot. I used to dig Keith when he was more aggressive like back when he had a good fight with Diego Chaves but something has been missing in recent times. Might be the element of Fire.

Sad but true. At one one time I thought One Time was going to emerge as the best WW of the decade. Life happens though. I hope he can get one more good win then retire. This isn't his life anymore.

Spoken like somebody who watches boxing, but has no idea what what they're watching, and has absolutely no idea how to score rounds.

Spencer aint nothing but another pbc black hype job.
Trash resume with 2 live names. A lightweight he couldnt ko in mickey and porter who he struggled with yet was handled easily by thurman and brook.

Obviously not. That layout of nearly 2 years took a lot from him.
