WBC Franchise champ is a way to make money from having their belt on the biggest cash cows in boxing. They never lose their status they don’t have mandatory etc. it’s so pathetic. Your basically untouchable within the WBC

There's nothing wrong with this ruling at all. I agree with a previous poster stating that Fortuna should be allowed a shot (but I hear he wants Campbell anyways). Regardless, would it matter? Fortuna can't beat Haney at all. So why bother with that fight? And Fortuna vs Campbell is actually a very interesting fight because of size difference. I'm cool with keeping that fight on the table

We are all suffering through the shelter-in-place orders around the world, and we're desperate for some high-level Championship Boxing. As I understand Mr. Leo Santa Cruz is very interested in fighting Mr. Geronta "Tank" Davis, however recently he stated he only wants that fight at the weight of 130 lbs. Wouldn't it be great if instead of Tank dropping back to 130 lbs., he could fight for the WBC Lightweight title? The opportunity is there, Mr. Haney has been granted a voluntary defense of his title. Please, for all of us, especially for those hardest hit by COVID-19, please give us a fight between Devin Haney and Geronta "Tank" Davis as soon as possible? WE NEED THIS ONE!

Honestly the WBC are the worse of the belts. I laugh when I see this typical hype and propagandas "The most prestigious belt" blah blah blah. How can you give someone a belt TWICE!!!

Lomachenko never should have been able to fight for the WBC belt. It was supposed to be Luke Campbell vs Devin Haney. It was telling that Lomachenko requested the WBC franchise status right after winning the WBC belt, instead of just fighting his mandatory Devin Haney in December. Now, after an extended time off, Lomachenko will be rusty and possibly past his best when he fights Teofimo Lopez for the WBA/IBF/WBO unification. The winner has to fight Devin Haney for the real WBC belt.

Imo , fighting Haney at that time wouldn’t have been very good for either fighter
Loma wins , he’d get accused of fighting a greenie etc etc
