It's called being realistic and knowing that he still has more to learn and pivotal experience to gain. You are obviously blinded by American arrogance and the apparent need in US culture to boast and brag about your abilities even if they aren't there. Everyone is a conman and a used car salesman now, conning the public into believing the BS they spew when there is absolutely no substance behind it. I would rather hear someone tell the truth and then prove themselves in the ring than someone talk about how great they are all day only to get embarassed in the ring when they fight solid competition.

This guy might be my favorite fighter right now. Humble and brings it on fight night. He's a gamer that legit talks to fans on and on. He's right though. Spence is a full grown man. Ortiz still looks like he's getting his man strength. Kinda like Charlo vs Lubin a few years back.Comment

Hell no. Did you even read the medical report on Spence's injuries? They were all minor, sc****s, cuts, bruises and some busted teeth. He had no internal injuries, nor did he break any bones to my knowledge. What makes you think, when Spence is fully recovered and cleared to box again, that he will get beat by underachiever AB?
Such an accident, body that shook, would take away the punch resistance.Comment

Have you ever boxed before?
You can’t go in the ring lacking confidence or being unsure of yourself. Boxing is a very psychological sport and any ATG will tell you that.
You don’t get it. You’re over here talking about arrogance and whatever. This is a highly psychological sport, aside from being a job where you HAVE to promote your self because your promoter won’t.
100% guaranteed, if he gets in the ring with Spence next year, he will lose. And I like what i’ve seen of Vergil Ortiz. But this is not the way to go about it in boxing. I don’t care how you were brought up to be. Most of that needs to go out the window in boxing and you need to make sure you have the psychological edge and you have the confidence. It’s imperative. He lacks the confidence, and right now, Spence has the psychological edge over Ortiz because Ortiz feels he can’t beat him.
When I was a 140lb teen, I called out a 230lb guy to spar. I thought I could win. Did I? No. I tried my best, I had confidence. I lost. But I got him good and it was a fight. But I had the confidence going in. At that time i’d spar anybody, no matter the size. I had confidence in my ability. I wasn’t being “realistic” with anyone, that word should not be in any fighters vocabulary. If you’ve never boxed then i’m having this conversation with the wrong person and I would understand your stance if you have never boxed in your life. But if you have boxed, then i’d be very confused with your post.Comment
