People always overrate the past, we will do the same in 20 years, talking about how Fury would’ve schooled the champ in 2040 or how he would’ve been too hittable to survive with Wilder.

It’s just the way things go.

There’s no point in comparing eras.

It wasn't until the very end of that era that Lewis got any respect from the American establishment as they tried to hype bowe up the entire time before finally giving in as Lewis retired and admitting he was the best. I remember that era very well and it's repeating itself now
I remember the same. Lewis wasn`t getting much respect.

Mike Tyson never fought Bowe, old Foreman. They all were du.ckung each other pretty much.

Any poster that has the same signature and avatar cannot be taken seriously when they post a thread....Jake the snake is no different.
Lewis , bowe , Tyson , ruddock , golota would all terrify the champions of today.......what made foreman more difficult in the 90” was how much he bulked up in size , he was just a hard a fighter to move backwards but Holyfield beat the hell out of him for 12 rounds....didn’t wallln beat the hell of out fury and wasn’t this wallin ranked 30th in the world ?

I have always maintained that the 90s were overrated. Thanks for reminding that Foreman was a champion and one of the biggest names in the 90s at age 45. LMAO. The same Foreman Ali destroyed and had to retire. LMAO.

Rid**** Bowe wasn't even that great and his career was ended by a Euro brum from Poland. But somehow he's one of the greatest from the 90s. Ruddock is more of a better posture having Dillian Whyte that was mechanical and I'd pick Dillian Whyte to knock him out but he's one of the most respected names from the 90s. Ruiz to me beats Tua. And Dubois right now is much more better as a boxer than Frank Bruno ever was.

I think the reason why people shyt on this era is because of Wilder and his lack of skills. He's the one they always point to when trying to make an argument. However, you can't blame the boxers - Wilder has just been well protected by his handlers and it's not like he has beaten any good contender in this era. The guy got destroyed the first time he stepped up in this era and he's a media creation with gullible fans.

The Wlad that AJ beat is the best version of Wlad in over 10 years. And the fight would've been very one-sided if Josh hadn't punched himself out after he scored the knock down. This era will go down as one of the best when it's said and done. Once Wilder is out of the picture - people are going to start giving the boxers more props. And I think AJ and Fury will end up as ATGs.

All you really need to do is check the highlight reels or mechanics of the 90's heavyweights 'Apart from fighters getting bigger and more out of condition these days? Heavyweights have technically regressed.

Deontay Wilder is the most limited WBC World Champion in all weight divisions, that I have seen in the past 20 years 'That is in terms of technical ability, because the man has plenty of courage'.

                ^^^^

Pretty much. You can tell who doesn’t fully understand the technical side of the sport when they say dumb stuff like the 90’s were overrated.

Wladimir and Tyson both punched themselves in the face, Lennox, Evander, Mike, even Oldman Big George, never did.

The others night I decided to rewatch the Lewis vs Mercer fight. Whilst it could have gone either way, I couldn't help but think wow boxing was so much better back then.

Just watching the beautiful combinations that Mercer was able to put together whilst Lewis didn't hesitate to mix it up either. You just don't get that nowadays. Apart from Tyson Fury, I don't see anyone from the current bunch being a top fighter in those times.

I was a teenager in 90s and when I saw Foreman stopping Moorer for a world title, I said to my father: dad, this dude is ok, but he is old, isn`t he? he said: yes, son, that`s Foreman, he was stopped by Ali 20 years ago. Ali is the best boxer ever, son.

I thought my father was joking lol.

Foreman by 48 beat unbeaten Savarese and got robbed against Briggs. That contenders from 90s completely ****** if they struggled that bad with 48 years old man.
