I met Fonfara too and saw his fight against Glen Johnson. He was the first to KO Chavez Jr. I met him very briefly. He fell off hard though.

I actually worked out with Granados my current coach was his strength and conditioning coach. He knew Granados when we was a young amateur.

Me and my buddy were so wasted at that fight. Jesus Christ.

The beer girls in the expensive seats were on point that night.

When Granados fought Frankie Gomez I remember his coach telling me it should have been a draw, but I thought Granados fought well but lost the fight because of the knockdown.

Polish people rode hard for Fonfara I never saw so much red and white before in my life. I saw him get KOed by Smith too. That was such a disappointment because Fonfara actually landed a few good combos on Smith I thought he had Smith hurt, but Fonfara got comfortable on his defense and he stayed in range just a bit too long and got caught big time.

I was there too. How silent was that arena after the Smith fight? I could hear my own fart easily.

I must have ran into you before there but you were proly walking around with slumped shoulders back then, but now you are strutting like an alpha pea**** !

Lol man that fight was crazy! UIC hasn’t done a lot of boxing lately!

I mean, they can’t at the moment, but you know. I think the last show they did was in 2018. They used to do 2 or 3 a year.

I think they do a lot of shows at the horseshoe in Indiana I think. I’ve never been there.

I saw Fres Oquendo fight in Horseshoe. I don't really like the set up to be honest. It's not a full 360 arena. More like a theater stage or something.

              UIC is waaay better.

They put a show on in Rosemont last September. Real cool show. Super low key type of show. There’s this indoor arena called The Dome At The Ballpark. It’s exactly what it sounds like. A ballpark inside a dome, but a super minor league dome ballpark lol. It’s cool they got beer, a lot of room to roam around. It’s. A big open space really. I think Don George fought there before. A lot of small local guys. You’ll probably never find ESPN or PBC doing a show there lol.

Didn’t think this was gonna turn into a thread of which Chicago boxers have you known/met.

He is typical gatekeeper, too bad to be world champ and he loses every time he steps up. But he was in some good fights.
