They get to choose which opponent they want, what weight they want, what other limits they want, the venue etc...and they know if it goes 12 rounds, they will very likely win the fight...you have to factor stuff like that in when considering opponent selection, just like you have to factor in what version of a guy you are facing.

like I told you in the post above... by refusing to negotiate on weight, Mr "anyone from 154-168" was never going to receive/make an offer..... AND YOU KNOW IT FANBOY!!

PLENTY of fighters did what they had to do to make big fights

    PLENTY !!

Hypekin is not one of them...

FACT: he could have simply taken the fights he avoided
FACT: you could simply stop blurting out UNNECESSARY childish excuses

NOTE:I have continually highlighted the word " UNNECESSARY " for a reason

you do not see childish excuse-making as " UNNECESSARY "... do you?

Ring TV.com: If you could, for a moment, could you specifically address the notion of fighting Andre Ward and/or Miguel Cotto or Canelo Alvarez?

Gennady Golovkin: I have big respect for Andre Ward. He has accomplished many things in the ring. My focus is to fight at middleweight unless there is a big fight at 154 or 168 that would be on pay-per-view. I think both Canelo and Cotto are warriors in the ring. They both have big hearts and both would be a big event and pay-per-view fights.

He fought Daniel Geale at 157 and Sergio Martinez at 159. Cotto stated in past interviews that all of his future opponents would be subject to a catch-weight.....

"I'm champion of 160, middleweight is my comfortable weight. For what [reason would I do a catch-weight]? For business or for what? I'm a boxer. I'm the champion of the middleweight division," Golovkin said.
      "
IBF/IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (34-0, 31 KOs) has no intention of agreeing to a catch-weight against the winner of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) vs. Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs), who battle for the WBC middleweight championship on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

lol...he trained for a fight for May 5th...his opponent pissed dirty so he brought in a suitable late replacement...I would have no issue with any fighter doing that, and I'm not going to have an issue with GGG doing it.

Not to mention that the Canelo rematch was always going to be his big money and legacy fight over Saunders...so it made all the sense in the world to face Vanes in May and then Canelo in September.

Also...the point was that Canelo, Canelo, Jacobs, Derevy, Brook, and then Rolls and Vanes...is as good as any current fighter for a 7 fight stretch...to hate on that run is just dumb man.

When coronavirus first delayed Canelo-BJS, this is what Eddie Hearn had to say about that fight and the two scheduled GGG fights.

“Canelo wants to fight Billy Joe before he fights Golovkin, and Golovkin wants to fight [Kamil] Szeremeta before he fights Canelo,” said Hearn to IFL TV.

                    No one cared.

Probably because it makes sense to take the fights that were signed to happen first before moving on to the next one.

Then IFL TV asks Banks if GGG would skip Szeremeta to fight Canelo right away. He says no and everyone loses their mind.

                    I wonder why?

Here’s my guess. When Canelo fans thought both fighters wanted an interim fight before the trilogy happened, nothing was wrong. But when the narrative shifted to only GGG wants a fight before the trilogy, he’s all of a sudden a p***y and he’s ducking, etc. etc.

You’re all idiots and total hypocrites. Good to see nothing has changed.
