Yeah that’s what I mean it was a gimmick with Floyd. He’d be in the club sober then go straight to the gym to bust his ass. He’s a gym rat really, it’s been drummed into him from a child.

With AB it became a lifestyle...

Yeah he almost became obsessed with it. He bought into the hype himself.

I always find it crazy when people almost seem intent on ruining their future. It just baffles me...

But I did overhype him myself and expected more from him. Until he fought Pauli, from that fight I could see his potential was limited.
Yeah, the Paulie fight was a huge wakeup call about how limited Broner was. Lots of people ignored it at the time.

Definitely exposed hype. He didn’t have it.

Yeah exactly man, I remember teaching this kid, he played for Man United’s academy, but he was always doing the wrong things hanging with the wrong crowd etc, got released by United for behavioural issues, bounced around several clubs and ended up getting a YTS at Preston I think (a paid contract for a youth player) but he was just intent on ruining things, I remember sitting him down before he left my school and asking him why he was so intent on ruining his life? He literally just shrugged. 3 years later he ended up in a car crash and is effectively now a vegetable.
