I had DLH winning the fight 115-113. I remember thinking it’s very hard to make a case for Tito as a lot of Oscars rounds he won clearly and I thought I gave Tito every close round. Plus a lot of people think the fight was fixed because it came out that one of the judges scored 3 of the first 4 rounds for Tito which was inexcusable. Then one of the other judges scored the last round for Oscar to make it closer even though Oscar threw zero punches in the last round. This was on the “legendary nights” show that HBO made. Certainly seems like the judges may have been paid off in that one. And I say that as a big Trinidad fan who doesn’t like Oscar one bit, lol.

Reminds me of Toney-Johnson in the sense that Johnson had the fight won and then gave away the last rounds.

Oscar could have won comfortably but he allowed it to get close by literally running those last few rounds.

I scored it for Oscar though.

thats what is so hilarious about boxing. they cant even rig things right. like in hopkins taylor 1 one of the judges gave taylor hte last round which gave him the win instead of a draw...its like hopkins dominated the round how in the world...or kovalev ward where all the judges gave ward the 10th where he was dominated but one judge gave the 12th to kovalev. how can you give him the 12th which was a close-ish round but not the round where he domianted? he realized his card was so laughable he had to do it

Im a HUGEEE tito fan but i scored it a draw. There were a few close rounds during the first 6 i think i gave tito the 4th or 6th and another one that not much happened and i believe the last 4. Tito won the 8th or 9th (dont remember exactly which it was including the last 3 which makes it 114-114.Tito atleast came to fight oscar was trying to win some rounds in the last 15 seconds by throwing quick flurries and even when not all were landing clean it would look pretty.

This idea that DLH lost because he RAN...maybe he survived by running for the last few rounds. Trinidad's stamina and power could been a problem for DLH had he not run.

"If only Oscar had not run" < Yeah, he would have possibly got KTFO and not lived to create this myth that he "gave the fight" away...

"I felt his power and did not want to feel it again..." ~DLH

Robbery is a bit strong but there's a reason most think Oscar should have won. He did absolutely screw himself over, though.

                Hoya won... Tito got handled

but Oscar blew it... he just needed to continue doing what he was doing, not jump on his bike...

                  Yes, yes he was.

I was a certified De La Hater in the '90s, as was every straight man I knew (even Mexicans didn't like him), and virtually everybody I knew think he got robbed.

Even people who think he robbed Ike Quartey & Pernell Whittaker think he got robbed

It was a garbage fight. Tito shxt the bed and was given the decision anyway

It was a Don King decision. Trinidad only won at the most four rounds.
