Why didn’t Wilder go toe to toe Fury?

I remember Wilder saying AJ was scared to go toe to toe with Ruiz in the rematch. But I saw Wilder do the same against Fury but the only difference is that he can’t fight on the back foot.

Bear in mind that Wilder has faster hand speed than Fury unlike Ruiz who has faster hands than AJ or any other HW. So Wilder would’ve won based on hand speed.

Wilder does not throw combinations. If he decided that was the time to start he would likely lose the exchanges even more so. His best interest is to keep some distance which would require his jab being on point against Fury

He doesn’t have footwork in there, and would consistently lose on all the angles.

LMAOOO. But he said he would go toe to toe with Andy Ruiz.

Wilders a one trick pony. Step back, load up, and throw one bomb to end a fight.
Going toe to toe would neutralize the distance needed for him to be effective. Fury knew this and that is why he came in heavy, leaned that weight on Wilder and took away his advantage. Wilder was desperate wearily and was throwing wild shots with no leverage.
Fury knew he had Wilder figured out after the first fight and it showed.

Being faster is useless if you don’t have skills to set a punch up and against a better boxer that outsized you ,Wilder was stunned by a jab and then decided to retreat if I remember correctly so he didn’t want to be in the center of the ring and Fury wasn’t letting him be there anyway so it’s not why Wilder didn’t do something it’s what Fury wanted .

Wilder has one shot and he loads up so it was a musket VS a sub machine gun.

I don't think you have an idea of what "going toe to toe" means. Firstly, Wilder wasn't scared or running from Fury. He was confused, hurt, unbalanced, and outboxed.

Secondly, Ruiz is not Fury. Ruiz doesn't have the skills, movement, and height and reach advantage of Fury. Joshua was scared to exchange with Ruiz. Wilder was not scared to exchange...he simply did not win those exchanges.

The one thing you got right was that Wilder was outboxed...front foot or back foot. And after the 2nd round, it changed to more of a one-sided contest. I am surprised it lasted that long and that Wilder was even standing and willing to continue.

Shut up, he was scared and running from like the 2nd rd when he landed his 3rd right and Fury hit with a stiff jab and overhand right.

You idiots will make every excuse in the world for that bum when the fight is on YouTube. You lot are also the same idiots who called this bum the hard hitting HW of all time.
