To be fair, Crawford stated on the State of Combat CBS podcast that he’ll only take spence after he (spence) has a comeback fight so detractors can’t say he beat a diminished fighter.

Crawford should probably face a porter, Garcia, or brook before unifying with spence. He seems to content with being inactive.

Amir Khan is a former unified champion at 140 and he was one of Crawford’s last three opponents.

Crawford also knocked out former champions four and five fights ago.

We don’t know that Porter is better than anyone Crawford has ever fought. I think there are multiple fighters on Crawford’s resume who are the same or better.

I’m sure Porter wants the fight. It’s too bad Crawford prefers to unify if he’s fighting an al Haymon fighter.

That’s not his best win. It’s probably Gamboa which is clearly a better win than anything Mikey Garcia has.

Even if his best win was Amir Khan, it’s comparable to any win Garcia has.

Seeking a guy fresh out of a car wreck instead of fresh competition (Porter OR Danny) right in front of him.

Seeking the top guy with two belts yet demanding 50/50 split
when his 147 resume consists of:

• A guy with one leg who almost took him the distance and was highly competitive
• A guy where he refused to fight him in his home country, then faked a hand injury to throw off the guy's camp
• A guy who allegedly has a glass chin that he couldn't spark, so he resorted to a low blow victory
• A guy where nobody could pronounce his name that two-pieced, wobbled and dropped him

Meanwhile, Errol Spence holds TWO belts. That means he's the guy. Keef even said so, Manny said so, Porter said so, Danny said so.

This Is The Fight

These are the best rivals in the sport not yet gone head to head. They’re both arrogant, fearless southpaws, able to switch, make changes mid-round — intelligent, full of heart, carry a mean streak — mirror images of one another. In the old days this would have been a 15 rounder, last round winner take all. I think of Spence as a bit stronger and I give him a close decision or a stoppage in 11 or 12. But I sometimes see something once they’re in the ring together that I can’t see beforehand, so I may change my mind in Round 2. Sign ‘em up, give me a date, I’ll host the PPV party.
