  • Fighters with Best Physique For Boxing

    Thomas Hearns

Monster reach and unusually tall for his weight class with long limbs

Rangy jab to keep opponents at bay

Long arms and shorter torso makes it easier to protect the body

Huge frame allowed him to put on weight and jump up five weight classes without being dwarfed

Hearns was a nightmare. Imagine if he had an iron chin also. An unbeatable fighter

He looked a bit lanky and skinny in the legs. I would say marvin hagler probably had the best physique ive ever seen in boxing. Wide shoulders chiselled body thick thighs and legs. Same with ken norton. I would also give tim bradley a shout

As far as proportional, height, weight, chiseled, Sugar Ray Leonard at Welterweight was perfect.

I think it all depends on how you utilize your style to fit your physical attributes and vice versa. For example Tommy Hearns didn't always fight in a way that would maximize the benefits of his physical attributes and that's why he lost at the top level. Opposite example would be a young Ali who perfectly used his physical attributes through his style for maximum effect. Same for a young Mike Tyson too. So no physique is perfect for boxing if you don't have the right style.

However being too muscle bound is bad for stamina so no matter how good your style is, the muscles might drain you and at the top level, it can cost you everything. Same with having heavy legs that limit your mobility and wear you down or big arms. Having too much weight in your legs also forces you to fight at a higher weight class than your natural frame like Canelo for instance. But for heavyweights it doesn't really matter, so like I said there are a lot of factors involved.

Bradley has toothpicks for legs. He was mostly top heavy.
