Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder Had Surgery On Left Biceps After Loss To Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder underwent another arm surgery, this time to repair his left biceps, following his loss to Tyson Fury on February 22. Wilder revealed the procedure during the newest episode of "The PBC Podcast," which debuted Wednesday on premierboxingchampions.com. The former WBC heavyweight champion didn't specify when he had the surgery, but he noted he'll be able to work out and spar by "the middle to end of May."

Actually Wilder already mentioned this one in his list of excuses during his no excuses post fight speech.

          I knew it.

Tyson hit him so hard he even injured Wilder' biceps.

Interesting. I just discovered I have a torn left bicep a few weeks ago. I wonder how long the recovery process really takes and the degree of difficulty to get around during recovery. Also what is the chance of it tearing again after recovery?

I'm not sure this occurred when I'm hitting the bag or from bicep workouts with lifting weights... Eitherway it sucks. It's literally been rendered useless.

As far as Wilder's concern, it shouldn't be an excuse. His left is useless. The fear and powa is all about that right hand.

He seems to have issues with tearing biceps along with his hands. It’s probably time for him to make a change to a new specialised Strength and Conditioning Coach, one with a masters or phd in kinesiology and not just a CSCS. With that munch punching power there was bound to be brittle hands but he seems to take it to a new level with brittle biceps too. Excellent time to make some adjustments to his ineffective style to a more boxer-puncher style rather than the “get outboxed waiting to land a big right hand” style he invented

Must have torn when he was lifting that heavy headdress on.

not saying its a legit reason or excuse for his loss....but i guarantee the same guys that want to bag him for this and are saying its "BS" are the same guys excusing pacs torn rotator cuff and gamboas injury
