I am actually disappointed that he didn't quit.

All these years I thought Boxers were supposed to quit.

    Wilder quit against Fury.

Whitaker quit against crossing the street.

    Tyson quit at life.

    Ali quit against Holmes.

    Robinson quit against Maxim.

Harry Wills backhanded Sharkey to get out of their fight.

Peter Jackson quit against young Jim Crobett .

You see, for well over a century, any time a good fighter didn't have things go his way, he just quit.

What is different about Lomachenko? What could it possibly be that sets him apart from these other Boxers? I am sitting here scratching my head wondering why he fought on like a man. Why could possibly have had the self-respect and dignity to endure that pain and not reduce himself to the level of an animal, like Salido... or these famous fighters above. Dammit what is different about Lomachenko!?!?

What was Salido's excuse for doing that?

Was he so scared of losing to a 1 fight novice pro that gave up his world title to get himself an unfair advantage?
Great question and most people never bring that up.

As for Lomachenko, I think he grew tremendously from that fight and it's not like Salido was some journeyman who was a 100-1 underdog going in.

The list of fighters capable of that is extremely slim. Salido was a good ****ing fighter and most fighters at that point in Loma's career are not beating Orlando Salido.

Hell, ATG fighters lost to worse fighters than Salido when they had a lot more experience than Lomachenko did at the time.

It is what it is. Loma took too big a risk too early, he lost, he acquitted himself well in the process by being very competitive. Salido had to get ugly to beat him and Lomachenko damn near got to him late. It's a credit to his career, not some shameful mark to hold against him forever.
i get where you are coming from

but...mikey beat salido when he was the same as loma was when he fought salido...

2nd pro fight or not doesnt really matter...loma was confident enough it wouldnt matter and that he was sooo much better and he knew what he was getting into.....he was confident enough he had all the answers.....hes the one who waited to turn pro

there are no excuses when you make a jump like that fully knowing what youre getting into...just like there would be no excuses for teo were he to be defeated in any fashion

He lost to Salido? I thought he was undefeated according to ESPN?
