Online boxing fans generally know nothing.
Is becoming undisputed in multiple divisions the only thing that ends criticism?

Not so much undisputed but becoming “the man” or the #1 in each division.
If you look at Andre Ward for example, defeated Kessler and Froch to prove he was the clear #1 at 168, then defeated Kovalev twice to prove he was #1 at 175, and he beat all of those pretty much in their primes.
I feel that’s the difference, guys like Canelo for instance get a lot of criticism (sometimes unfairly) for not necessarily beating the best fighter in each division like Rocky Fielding at 168 or facing fighters when they are past their prime such as Cotto, GGG and Kovalev. Still very impressive wins but not as impressive as beating the top guys in their primes.
hold on man...
Mayweather was not a JMW... he was a welter who punched above his weight because of his phenomenal skillset
exclude Mayweather
Canelo beat the two best fighters at 154... then he beat the two best fighters at 160... he now campaigns at 168, and will likely fight Benavidez/Saunders within the next year-or-so
if that happens, Canelo will have done exactly the same as Ward
which btw, is NOT how guys like Golovkin are carving their resume
people need to check their roll
Canelo, sets his fight schedule... nobody elseComment

The folks who are most critical and unappreciative of fighters seem to be people who have never fought, or could never get any respect fighting or anything else. They overly criticize anyone who is good and successful at anything. Jealousy, self-loathing, disappointed people are always critical, but will never participate themselves ... knowing they have nothing.
Cowards usually and/or spoiled kids growing up with privilege, but can't accomplish anythng without privilege. Usually below average students of anything they choose. Underacheivers who are critical of anyone who acheives.
Real fans, and those who have participated in boxing or any sport, understand how much work, training, luck with injuries, and dedication goes into it ... to even be DECENT. Let alone rise to the top of a sport.Comment
