Is becoming undisputed in multiple divisions the only thing that ends criticism?

I see a lot of top boxers criticized on here, many of whom are multiple division champions or undisputed champions, or both.

So I wonder, is becoming a two division undisputed champion the only way to be above criticism with boxing fans?

I ask those who are critical of the fighters who seem to have a chance at achieving that goal, (Lomachenko, Crawford, Canelo and Usyk) if the fighter you aren’t sure about became a two division undisputed champion, would that end your doubts?

    It would end my doubts.

I’ve thought about this quite a bit and to be honest it shouldn’t even have to get that far. Being undisputed takes a lot of work and if it’s in one of those lame divisions where the scalps you took didn’t mean much then undisputed is pretty much an extra trinket. What ppl really want from fighters is to see them in risky situations where they have to face adversity and once they prove that they’re willing to pay their dues. I’d much rather see someone face the best names then to have to rely on belts, number of defenses etc. as merit to what they have done.

a fighter should want every reasonable challenge, and then some

he should want to fight every threat in his division

It is beyond some people to stop criticizing fighters they dont like. Floyd is considered one of the best ever by some and others call him a duck. Pac is the only 8 division champ and some worship him for that where others take him as a joke. Where there are people who praise there are always gonna be those who criticize. Simple ****** truth.

Not so much undisputed but becoming “the man” or the #1 in each division.

If you look at Andre Ward for example, defeated Kessler and Froch to prove he was the clear #1 at 168, then defeated Kovalev twice to prove he was #1 at 175, and he beat all of those pretty much in their primes.

I feel that’s the difference, guys like Canelo for instance get a lot of criticism (sometimes unfairly) for not necessarily beating the best fighter in each division like Rocky Fielding at 168 or facing fighters when they are past their prime such as Cotto, GGG and Kovalev. Still very impressive wins but not as impressive as beating the top guys in their primes.

This ^. With the weird irony that it's always the best fighters who get the most criticism... nobody spends their time crapping on James Degale or Fedor Chudinov for instance yet far more accomplished dudes get it non stop. Suspect it's more to do with the fans than anything the actual fighters themselves do or don't do though. There's dudes around here literally pin their entire egos to the success or failure of certain fighters.

Sad though as a boxing fan to see the names of excellent fighters - or indeed any fighters at all - being dragged through the mud by dudes who claim to be boxing fans. Far as I'm concerned any dude laces 'em and steps into the ring deserves respect, yet alone the top guys in the sport.

If prime Floyd Mayweather and Roy jones can be criticized then every fighter since them can be criticized, regardless of their accomplishments.

More fans unfortunately create more opinion...

And as Roger Mayweather said most people DKSAB.

My thoughts exactly on this. As a fan it should be pure respect for anyone risking their health for our entertainment
