It wouldn't be bare Knuckle fighting if your knuckles were covered in wraps.
But your suggestion for wrapped Knuckle fighting is noted.

If you want to use a closed fist then go to the body where there's more soft spots and the bones have a lot more padding.
Bare Knuckle fighting is just fighting. You don't get into an altercation in the street and put some gloves on.

I've never been in a fight were I refused to punch someone in the face because it may hurt my hand.

Don't say that to Wilder's fans Lol, they think hitting their "King" with bare-knuckle is how he lost. They actually think a boxer would rather hit another boxer with his bare knuckles.

If you look at how many GENERATIONS it took for Boxing to have a champion like Hopkins, you can see how Boxing evolved from pure fighting to a sport/game.

Fair point, but there has been organized bare knuckle boxing for a lot longer than the queensbury rules have been published.

I don't pay much attention to the floppy glove thing. But technically Fury would be hitting with wraps AND tape, not bareknuckle.

No shit Paulie. This man clearly deserves an honorary doctorate in orthopaedics.

Dat also got dropped by an MMA fighter and he had never been down as a pro boxer. Of all the ones to make the transition I like Dat's the most from an entertainment standpoint but the Ishe Smith and Paulie fight was pretty much identical a boxer outboxing a brawler except Ishe threw more solid punches and got the W on paper.
It was a flash knockdown. Dat wasn't hurt, he'd just never encountered that type of attack before (an uppercut with a Muay Thai clinch pulling his head downwards). We can see from Dat's legs and what he did immediately afterwards that he wasn't hurt.

Paulie threw zero punches in the fifth round of a close fight. Broken hands or no, that's pathetic and he deserved to lose. He embarrassed the entire sport of boxing. He lost to a guy who isn't even good in MMA.

Shannon Briggs will be heavyweight champion if he gets the chance to. Joey Beltran on his best day is nowhere near the caliber of a 48 year old Briggs.
