Definitely, Ali would have absolutely wrecked him emotionally at press conferences.

A pre-ban Ali vs a pre-jail Tyson is always an interesting fantasy matchup. It could've gone either way but I doubt Mike would knock Ali out. Ali faced big puncher after big puncher and always withstood a hell of a lot of punishment. Mike would obviously have to get rid of Ali early but if he knocked Ali down and Ali got up, as he would likely do, it would wreak havoc on Mike's psyche.

If there were ever a litmus test to weed out casual fans from the true boxing fans it is the age old question of Ali vs Tyson. Anyone saying Tyson is clearly a casual boxing fan. All respect to Mike he was my absolute favorite fighter and I love him dearly but even he himself tells people to get real here. Ali's style, chin, elusiveness, and mental games is a storm of s*** for Tyson to deal with.

Regardless of the comment, Ali Jr sounds like a s h ithouse.

Because tyson wasn’t as good as Frazier. Mike Tyson probably hit harder than Frazier but that’s where it ends. Everything tyson did otherwise, Frazier did it better....including having a stronger mentality to deal with adversity. Frazier was as good in the 15th round as he was in the 1st.

I could not possibly agree more with this post.

A humble man. Ali would have probably said the same.

With much more power and more varied and extended combinations. Far better conditioned. Compare the bodies. Leagues apart. I mean LEAGUES apart.

I think both in there prime this is a close fight.
Maybe if they fought ten times Ali wins 7 Tyson wins 3 would be my estimation.
Obviously Tyson would have to stop him, but Ali was susceptible to the left hook as demonstrated by Frazier and cooper. Tyson had a murderous left hook that he followed with a barrage of explosive punches if that didn’t get the job done. Also fantastic at slipping the jab to deliver it in his prime, I’m thinking Carl the truth Williams fight. In no way am I going to attempt to compare Ali’s jab to Williams but one lazy jab the whole fight would be all it would take to give Tyson a chance.
