Comments Thread For: David Benavidez: Caleb Plant Is 'Overrated,' Weakest Champ At 168

The war of words between super middleweight champions David Benavidez and Caleb Plant keeps building toward a crescendo. The 23-year-old WBC champion Benavidez (22-0, 19 KOs) opted for the written format during a reddit "Ask Me Anything" session with fans to take another shot at potential future foe in IBF titlist Plant (20-0, 12 KOs).

If anyone else said this about Plant, it would be annoying to me, because Plant is probably a lot harder to fight than he looks. But Benavidez went from a little fat kid to a champ. He knows what he sees. He put the work and the years in. He has all the skills. To beat him, Plant will have to go above and beyond to get in supreme condition. And stand his ground at times

Well he is the least proven champ for sure. Would love to see him fight Benavidez. Think he loses it in a fun fight.

They sold some goofy fans on Caleb's story and matched him perfectly to win a title. Dude has literally fought the weakest opposition to win a title in the history of boxing.

Yeah, but as much as it is wishful thinking, it is more likely than at other divisions. None of these guys are household names and unifications would give all involved their best paydays. So.... let's just say "possible" and cheer for it in a few months when sports are allowed to exist again.

Caleb is a B level fighter who got lucky and his sad side story helped.

I know people who know Plant and they say he is a real douchebag but whatever.

I find him very boring inside the ring and i hope to see him get that ass beat soon.

Benavidez isnt that great but he probably beats Plant.

If Benavidez is hype, then what is Plant? He struggled the second half of the Uzcategui fight & was barely able to hurt a much smaller Feigenbutz. Dude is a solid boxer with good movement & decent power that will definitely be a puzzle for Benavidez, but in no way does he have the type of power that can keep Benavidez off of him for 12 rounds.
