Comments Thread For: Haye Explains Why Wilder Will Not Step Aside From Fury Trilogy

Former two division world champion David Haye does not view Deontay Wilder as the kind of fighter who would accept an enormous sum of money to step away from a trilogy fight with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

His pride wont let him step aside but the most sensible decision would be letting Fury and Joshua fight while he faces Whyte, huge payday for nothing plus another nice ppv cheque in a very risky but winnable fight.....beat Whyte for the interim and force the mandatory early next year with 2 full training camps behind him

Ain't no way he steps aside. It's his first career loss and he's still in his prime. Willing to beat someone $500 he won't.

I’m not even sure why this is even a question....oh yeah that’s right, because Eddie Hearn keeps running his mouth trying to lie to the media mongering enough so that people will believe it Joseph Goebels style

It won't be his last fat check even if he loses to Fury again. I'm pretty sure some arrogant up and coming HW will try Wilder to have that name on his record. Wilder can market himself for another big check. Amir Khan is trash and landed the Canelo fight.

Am I the only one who'd prefer wilder vs Ruiz or Whyte rather than vs Fury once again??

Not sure. Khan is a soft target as he doesn't have a g'nite punch and he's got a glass chin. Wilder will always have that right hand, so he's likely to be avoided by everyone who feels they have a shot at getting a Fury or Joshua payday. Only way back for Wilder is to land that right vs Fury in III while getting the best payday he'll ever get again (if he loses). Will he land it ? Probably not, but always the chance he will.
