Couldn’t agree more. I love Floyd as boxer but he can’t train. Floyd doesn’t even know how to talk.
Floyd can’t be a boxing analyst let alone train someone. He says the same thing (nothing that we don’t already know). I am not even faulting the guy. I think he has a case for being the �� but he cannot train.

Look at Malignaggi - one of the best boxing analysts out there. His career was nothing compared to Floyd but he can dissect a fight or fighters way better than Floyd could ever dream. In fact, my opinion is that Malignaggi is the best boxer-turned-analyst. Roy is a close 2nd followed by Andre Ward.

I somewhat disagree with you regarding Floyd as a pundit (not the paulie stuff he is the best analyst out there) Floyd rarely gives away much when he talks boxing but there has been a few occasions in old tv appearances you can find on YouTube where he will break down certain moves punches etc and you can find snippets from his live Q&A's that surprise you when he talks about another fighter

Not saying he could be another Paulie but Floyd's boxing knowledge is second to none what paulie says in a 3000 word rant Floyd tends to make a point simply and turns out right whether that translates to good TV probably not but if he grew into the role he would great to listen to talking about other fighters and styles with no ego I think he can do it

As for being a trainer I dont know seems like too much dedication for a man who has everything in life and sleeps in silk pyjamas

Well, 1: he's got knowledge and insights second to no one, 2: he's got a work ethic second to no one, 3: he's been to the top and knows what's required to get there so he's not likely going to waste his time with someone who doesn't have the attributes to get there.

Floyd may not ultimately train the next Floyd Mayweather (too many variables outside of his direct control), but I am fairly certain that whoever he commits to working with will be cut from the same cloth. Floyd has too much pride to be that closely associated with anyone less. I could see him training and then dumping plenty of guys who just don't meet his high standards.

Well said. Just that I hope he would be patient enough to allow potentially the new Floyd to grow.

Totally agree with you, Mayweather breaks down a fight & fighters very well in a matter of fact fashion - but not in succulent made for TV analytical entertainment (which is something every analyst is "taught" to one degree or another).

As you said, "If" he can take his MASSIVE ego out of the equation he could turn into a great trainer and pundit overnight - his drive and determination would see to it that it happens.

Imo, right now he's a little too much like Zab's father (with his "hey crowd look at me" animated antics in btwn rnds when giving his son instructions) and Atlas (a self-righteous head case) to gain any real traction in developing uncommitted talent...

Another guy I would like to see become a full time trainer is Roberto Duran.

Even in the short clips on YouTube where he has worked with Sergio Mora and Shane Mosley you can see that he knows a lot of old school nuances and details. Stuff that isn't seen anymore and will be lost when he leaves this earth.
