Very good fight and the build up was great also.


I remember watching it live at my brothers house.

Floyd Mayweather was on edge before the fight, Hatton was at his absolute peak 'There has not really been a fighter who attacks the body like Hatton since him' Hatton was like a tidal wave of violence.

On a personal level that was one of Floyd Mayweather biggest wins 'You could see this in his actions after the fight, crying in hysterics etc'.

Before that fight Mayweather in my opinion was not a Gobal star 'But in the space of two fights Hatton & Del La Hoya he effected took over boxing'.

He was right in that fight Ricky Hatton, I have never bought into the myth that he was being beaten from start to finish 'I am not sure what the score cards are? But it just always seemed like a very close fight to me'.

Note: Just checked around for score-cards, I had Mayweather just by watching the fight? At-least 2 rounds up at the time of the stoppage.

We see serious cases of favouritism from refs all the time. Beyliss was clearly biased against Fury in his latest win. And this is far from a dig at America, some of the very worst have come from British soil.

Cortez was clearly biased in favour of Floyd, Hatton is rightfully angered he wasn't allowed to fight inside. He wasn't allowed to do what he did best. He was never going to win that fight. Im a big Ricky Hatton fan but Ricky was never at his best at 147 and was not on Floyd's level. And Hatton knows this.

Just would of been nice to let Ricky give it everything he had on the biggest night of his Boxing life rather than being bum rushed by Cortez everytime he got near Floyd.

the difference between hatton and ward is that if hatton fought floyd in england, floyd would win, if ward fought kovalev in russia, kovalev would have won the first fight comfortably and the second fight would not have had so many fouls!!

I'm a Ward fan but my nuts still hurt to this day watching that fight.
