When it was time to train? Tyson could train, Instinctually he was a hard trainer 'But as you have pointed out, once he left team Tyson BOXING was not a 365 day a year obsession for him.

Very rarely was Mike Tyson ever really out of condition, even his condition up against Lennox Lewis was better than 95% of the heavyweights today 'I once read that he only trained intensely for about 6-7 weeks for that fight, Ronnie Shield's originally planned to have a longer camp' But those plans had to change due to Tyson smoking weed.

If you guys haven't seen Etienne's paintings, they're excellent.

Why "should" he have? Mike acted the clown skipping camp to have a a tattoo stuck on hes face. Why does everyone have to change their behaviour to fit in with the delicate ego of these drama queen's? You remind me of the people who say someone around Broner needs to save him from himself. Nah, **** that, do what you wanna do and leave the idiots sabotage their own lives.

I think what he's saying here is that Mike told him he wasn't fighting so he flew home, then Mike changed his mind and went ahead without him.

Reading between the lines, Mike was an emotional guy and I'm sure most people around him chose to ignore what he said one day and just go along like nothing happened, because they expected his mind to change the next day.

That doesn't work for everybody, including most boxing trainers. You tell Atlas, Sanchez or Roach you're not fighting, they'd be on the next plane out as well.

But these guys wouldn't do well against Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield and Bowe. Tyson Fury would be quite competitive I think.
Make no mistake, though. Tyson hit Etienne with a big shot, but Etienne had come to fight, and fight he did... until getting that bomb in the face. It was one of the most eventful 1-minute fights I've ever seen.

Any sane person who doesn't want to fight just calls the fight off...

    Not Tyson....

Makes you wonder what happened in the few days in-between...
