The very top boxers earn more than the top MMA artists, but

          1. Not sure Tyson is someone to take financial advice from.

          2. Most boxers earn very very little.

          3. MMA fighters fight more often a year.

It is very hard to know how much fighters across the board earn per year and how long their careers are. So most comments on this kind of thing are just guesswork.

Money didnt change boxing, promoters did.
It always come down to money. If promoters were there or not the The sanctioning bodies are rigged because of money. If they have a high profile Mexican boxer or whatever if they fight in a close fight they always get the edge or they will rigg his mandatories so he will not face legit opponents or in canelo’s case let him do what ever he wants.

What I am saying is. I like the UFC business plan and organization because it’s better for the “fans”. UFC always puts on good cards in boxing that rarely happens. They never put the fans first. We never gotten to see Adonis and Kovalov , Ward vs Adonis, Juan Vs Gamboa (prime) , undefeated Wildier vs Undefeated Joshua , and so on and so one. Yes it’s mainly about the networks and promoters but deep down too the root of the problem is money. Who’s getting what profit and the cut. I will stay this UFC is robbbing the fighters but the fans are happy. We will never see prime Crawford verses any prime PBC fighter until 2-3 years from now due to greed and money.

In to also put it perspective I put my life on the line for YOU as a soldier! When will you send me a check ? Soldiers get paid like **** and treated like **** but when it’s time for war we gotta go not you. Guess what that’s what I signed up for . Just like those UFC fighters. If they don’t like it they can walk. They are not ****** like in Ancient Rome. They can start a UNION if they wanted. Fighters run the company if they are smart. That’s why I love Floyd.

He’s right and it’s not going to even be close for a long time. It was like that before he came along but Floyd has played a big role in that too. He showed fighters if you be your own boss or even just have the right team around you, you can make an absolute killing in boxing even if you’re not right at the top. Mid level guys in boxing now can make 2-3 million a fight. Whereas a lot of the very top guys in UFC (excluding McGregor) aren’t even getting close to 1 million per fight. Love him or hate him the sport of boxing and the fighters of today owe Floyd for that. Fighters today are getting 1-2 million for fighting journeymen. They’ve got it real good, whereas UFC fighters are forced to take what they’re given. People say they pay their fighters 5% of the revenue. It’s probably less than that to be honest.

5 star post! You hit the nail on the head 🎯

UFC model is better for fans but worse for fighters. Boxing has a lot of issues with making matchups but at least the top fighters are getting compensated properly. And while it’s frustrating when we don’t get the right matchups at times, let’s be honest, if I was a fighter I’d much rather pick my fights than have some crooked promoter pick them for me. It’s not just a sport it’s also a business at the end of the day. Great fights are still being made, sometimes we just have to wait a bit longer for them.

If a boxing event and ufc event makes the same money, but their fighters aren't compensated the same then who is getting that money.

all thing relatives say a boxer makes 1.5 million but the UFC counterpart makes 200,000 where did that 1.3 million go?

It goes into Dana white and the other owners pockets. UFC never cared about it fighters or people who make that sport and it was clear when they banned sponsorship and took side money out of everyone pockets and put it into their own pockets at the expense of their talent/trainers etc.
Boxers fight for themselves, UFC fighters fight for the brand AND company. The UFC has a larger middle class so overall maybe their fighters are paid more 'But at the top of their sport? Boxers make more money in comparison'.

Boxing should never be run like the UFC, people who pine over the UFC's business models need to understand 'That boxing has never been run that way, as it is still the worlds most inclusive combat sport'.
