Just fans following mouthpieces and repeating the same thing that they hear them say.
Couldnt have said it better myself!

Sad reading the comments here. All true. Boxing had broader fan base then and the fights happened when people were young and fresh.

They do? The world changed into a bunch of puzzles overnight.
Fighters worry about their pay check while their legacy is an afterthought, if that.
Political correctness is squeezing the life out of everything.
Kids don’t run around outside anymore but instead watch people play video games.
I fear that in another ten years that the world will stop producing Vargas’ and Mosley’s entirely.

Man I remember watching El Feroz when he started off as a pro fighting on PPV undercards and his fights against Yory Boy and El Diamante.

I hated him at first but I began to like him as I grew to respect his approach to fights. The wars against Tito and Oscar were epic.

My son's grandmother unfortunately knew him well. She was a teacher and helped many Latina girls in the 90's. One girl she tutored was his girlfriend and he beat her regularly. She knows little about boxing so I had to make sure we were talking about the same person so I showed her highlights the Oscar fight. She confirmed it was him and her face turned sour with disgust. She then told me more accounts. She felt retribution watching Oscar KO him. Again she wasn't and still isn't aware of anything regarding this sport. I later sent her video of Vargas getting hit in the balls, she told me it made her day.

Now that I know this first hand from an incredible lady who volenteers for those less fortunate and is NOT a feminist, I can't stand Fernando. Based on his looks time has not served him well

Honestly I wouldn’t be shocked, Vargas was a very volatile personality when he was younger in boxing. That description would match him. I don’t know him personally but just going by what I see of him at boxing events, pressers etc..... Allegedly I may say in reference to your post.

Again this is a lady who doesn't say bad things about people, and she's not an angry person. She's 65 retired and volenteers 5 days a week because she loves it. So there is no doubt in my mind especially when she gave me such detailed stories. When I showed her video the look on her face was disgust when she said "oh yah that's him". I didn't want to hear it, but it was story after story after story. Volatile personality is an appropriate description. Piece of S.

Cotto vs Vargas would have been a heck of a fight!
