Yes.
And I'm still in Wilder's corner.
But you don't turn down that kind of money.
Take it.
Eddie & Deontay would probably get along well.
Win or lose, they were going to offer him an extension.
His KO ratio, fundamentally sound or not, is very marketable.
I was shocked & upset when I read he turned it down out of loyalty.
He'll make that much from the 2 Fury fights and Ortiz. Plus the $120 million was contingent on the AJ fights happening. AJ lost to Ruiz and had to rematch him.
60 million for 3 fights with the big fight being a coked up out of shape fury(wilders words) or 100 million with the big fight being against johua who was #1 at the time.
does this go down as one of the worst boxing decisions of all time?
If it's true then yes it is. Put that money in the bank and be very rich and comfortable the rest of your life unless you have to own airplanes, boats million dollar cars and many homes. Then you might need more money.
Hard to say. I don't pay too much attention to his purses but he could make all that with the last Fury fight, the upcoming one, the Ortiz fight, and still one with Joshua. I say that as Joshua said even before the Fury rematch that no matter if Wilder lost or not he still wants to fight him
Still till the very end the wilder revisionist just dont call it for what it was, which is the worst decision arguably in heavyweight boxing history ,its that bad and cost him not only a pay day one with any sense doesn't walk away from but his own carrer as he will retire in all likihood should he take another L which is the likely outcome in a third Fury fight .
Wilders decision also gave AJ the loss to Ruiz had he agrreed that fight never happens but a fighter like AJ doesnt decline he gets better ,Wilder is looking as someone on ther verge of going outside the top 5 spot , AJ , Fury ,Hrgovic ,Usyk all defeat him .
