    James Toney

As you all know he tested positive for steriods after his UD bout over John Ruiz. How long do you think he was on steriods? Was it just a one time thing or is it something he picked up awhile ago?

I just saw Toneys fight with Jirov and Ive never seen Toney so buff before and was wondering if he could have been juiced then.

Also do you think he should have been able to fight 5 months after testing positive for steriods? I honestly dont...

I reckon he was on them for a long time.

I also think he should have been banned for at least 2 years. The ban he got was pretty much pointless as it takes a few months to get ready for a big fight anyway. Still, seeing as boxing is one of the most corrupt sports, it didn't surprise me.

People always go and bash James Toney about his use of banned substances, but always overlook Roy Jones' steroid abuse over the years, an addiction which has crippled his career beyond repair. Roy Jones has taken in more steroids than most bodybuilders out there. Don't make threads about James Toney and try to act like Roy is some goody-good. The guy's career was built and destroyed off his steroid intake.

No proof, those are just fairy tales about Roy Jones.

This guy is done. He is a sloppy heavy weight. I see Klitschko dominating him and knocking him out. Even Sergai Liakovich would take him out. His fights are all bore fests and i can;t wait for some one to shut his FU%&*6$. mouth

I actually dont think he used it before ever going to heavy weight. Against Ruiz was the only time that I actually saw him as looking pretty big about the arms.

The reason for my saying this is because if your notorious for having difficulty cutting weight then it would be ******ed to take steroids. However in the heavyweights making weight wasn't a requirement and he roided up for the extra power which he naturally lacks at heavy weight.

his excuse for the Ruiz fight was he was taking pain killers in training. I'm not sure i believe him.

No his excuse was that his arm was healing from a serious injury and he admittedly used a steriod cream on it. It was legally prescribed by a medical doctor. This is pretty common place for most people that have serious surgeries, but it becomes taboo for athletes. Steroids such as the ones Toney took are more about faster healing from injuries than building up big muscle mass. And I agree with the earlier post that if we are talking steroids the discussion should be about RJJ and Shane Mosley who used illegal designer steriods having nothing to do with injuries.
