I remember Heavyweight boxing was virtually non existent before Haye moved up in weight.
Those Klitschko fights were awful! No one was tuning in and the division was in desperate need of an exciting champion with a little bit of charisma.

Exciting champion? His Valuev, Klit, and Harrison fights were anything but exciting. He threw less punches than Wlad against Fury in the Valuev fight for example.
