Hed get even less credit than Cotto got though, based on the standards mayweather is judged on.

I don’t think Floyd ever really cared though as long as he was still banking multimillions.

He’d have been in the history books as a lineal middleweight champion regardless.

Would have been a pretty easy win for Floyd and an even more profitable send off for Sergio than the one against Cotto.

But..Floyd couldn’t be sure that Sergio was shot enough. Floyd only took one real risk in his whole career, that was against Oscar and that was for a fight with a huge upside.

Yea he should have Sergio had a bum knee thats why Cotto beat him. Thats why I rank Floyd below Duran , Duran was able to beat Iran Barkley , Floyd never tried 160 and should have. If he would have won a title at 160 there would be no question of claiming his self pro claimed title of TBE . This would have put him above Henry Armstrong and Ray Robinson who many believe is the real TBE

He fought and beat Canelo and Cotto easily.

Why didn't Pac fight Canelo, Sergio and Cotto at 160?

Good point tbf, although I thought he looked in decline against Martin Murray, I still expected him to beat Cotto. It was only after that first round we knew what kind of shape Martinez was truly in.

Cotto gave Mayweather a real tough fight. Pac actually beat him much easier tbh.

              Styles make fights.

What? Becoming lineal mw champion doesn’t “move the meter” legacy-wise?

Floyd already has the best resume ever so no he "shouldnt" have fought him. However it would have been a marvelous fight

Probably Pac being best of era and 8 division titilist had something to do with it. He wanted to give his peers chance to catch up.

                      Best resume ever?

That would make me question how well you know your history.

But he does undoubtedly have an ATG resume no dis*****g that.
