Uh, what? I was under the impression that this was a boxing forum where I can post my opinion on boxing matters. What is there to not "get?"

Shannon Briggs in some ways was ushered out of boxing 'No promoters or fighters really wanted to work with him, even though he had a great story behind him etc'

        1. Hes ****ing old .

        2. Even in his late prime he was not an active fighter, a 5 round fight will not benifit him the slightest . His punch output wont allow it to. Hes gonna have to load up on the epo to fight like an amateur ( pace wise ) at his age.

The one thing Briggs does have going for him is the fact that he hits like a mule whether hes 50 or not . I personally would not want to get hit by Briggs with no gloves and a taped wrist/ hand exposing the knuckles. But I wouldn't wanna get hit by any trained professional heavyweight in bare knuckle either lol . Briggs should retire and start coaching real fighters and keep training the youtubers . Briggs is a great personality and having someone like him on these kids youtube channels is not gonna be bad for the sport of boxing or for Briggs bank account in future endeavours.

Briggs would make a good commentator too hes well spoken and he knows the game .
I've not seen any lately, but back in the day all the toughest bare Knuckle fighters and champions were in their 40's and 50's.

It isn't (or never used to be) a young man's sport. It's over much quicker than boxing (usually) and a big puncher with no stamina and a lot of experience can excel at the sport.

I really like Briggs, he's a great character. My personal favourite moment of his was when he spooked Klitschko off his paddle board thing.
He's so tenacious you have to be ready for him to jump out at you at any time, a bit like Kato in the 'Pink Panther' movies.

Briggs should calm down and go play with his grand kids . It's not all about you Briggs. Get off the 'exceptionalism/entitlement' tripping you have engaged in all your life. Time to grow up old man!

Screw the haters, Let's Go Champ!

The level of competition in BKFC isn't that high. Most of the fighters are MMA journeymen in their late 30s and 40s.

So far, the only notable boxer to lose a fight in bare knuckle is Paulie.

Ishe Smith easily dominated his fight.

Dat Nguyen had a 5 rounds to 0 shut out in his first fight (which he nearly pulled out of due to a severe flu) and a savage first round KO in his second.

Tyler Goodjohn is an undefeated world champ in BKB and in gloved boxing he's a 13-5 English-level journeyman.

I would bet money right now that Briggs would KO the two top heavyweights in BKFC. Even at 48.
