The truth is Canelo beat the weakest 168 pound champion in Fielding and never defended that title and beat the weakest light heavyweight champion and never defended that title either. Canelo was a 15 to 1 betting favorite to beat Fielding and a 5 to 1 favorite to beat Kovalev so the pro odds makers didn't think he was taking that much risk in those fights. The betting places have made Canelo a 2 to 1 favorite to beat old GGG so they consider that fight a much bigger risk for Canelo than his fights at 168 and 175.
