The narrative played for BOTH guys, what is each guy going to do when they fight each other. Golovkin dismissed the whole narrative of ''real mexican fight'' as if Trella, Byrd, Moretti never SEEN Mexican fights... lol.
Canelo is NO Lemieux. GGG fought safety first with both Jacobs and Lemieux, same as against Canelo, just fighting behind a jab. GGG's worst statistical performance let alone loooking awkward was against Canelo. Judges see all that and take context into consideration. Judges knew about GGG's style with Jacobs and Lemieux.
Therefore, Canelo was GGG's first opponent whom had better compubox, and for two guys whom are known power punchers, Canelo had the better shots. That is FACT! Now if you want to go by simply by the amateur point system where its merely tag-you're-it, then you go Moretti's scorecard which in itself was also close, 115-113. Trella and Byrd weren't impressed with Golovkin. Just coasting behind a jab and not giving the arena any risk taking with power shots. The context influences whether you like it or not. The flip side too, Canelo moved gracefully like never before, playing rope'a'dope and having the Olympian-GGG miss like an amateur.
To conclude, Moretti close card doesn't equate for GGG winning. That was Moretti's preference. Swing round science shows that Moretti could've scored it a DRAW too, which would've been a majority draw overruling Byrd.
So what's your excuse? All the judges were bought off? Compubox speaks for itself.
