  • Comments Thread For: Davison: Wilder Will Be Dangerous If He Lets His Hands Go In Third Fury Fight

Ben Davison thinks Tyson Fury will beat Deontay Wilder again in their third fight. Whether Fury defeats Wilder by out-boxing him, Fury's strategy in their first fight, or by overwhelming Wilder with physicality and pressure again will depend on how Wilder goes about that third meeting. Davison, Fury's former trainer, expects Wilder to increase his punch output when they fight again because it's the only strategy that has a chance to work for the Alabama-based knockout artist.

I’ve been saying this for seemingly several years now.....Wilder is his own worst enemy. His low lunch output and willingness to let his opponents dictate the pace while giving away rounds is probably the worst single trait I have ever seen in a champion. He didn’t use to fight like that. He didn’t fight stiverne like that nor did he fight duhapaus like that....it seemed to creep in circa the Molina and Szpilka fights

WIlder has one chance - to get lucky. Every other way he loses and gets beaten up again.

Fury's power and punch accuracy will only get better with each fight, Wilder will get hard countered after his swing & miss attempts, he'll be backing up again for another beat down!

Yea, it creeped in when he started fighting guys that have at the very least, average boxing ability. Guys that weren’t below journeyman level or weren’t paid to move up from cruiserweight to get punched in the face. He can’t fight live opponents like he fought Stiverne and Duhaupas...guys that were scared of his power and lost the fight before they entered the ring. That Mike Tyson effect.

This is why I think any top 10 heavyweight would handle him in the same manner as Fury did. He simply has no boxing IQ and can’t stick to a game plan or adjust where needed when things don’t go the way he’s specifically trained for...which has always been a training regiment that consists of, “they can’t handle your power champ. They can’t outbox you champ. You look masterful in there champ” as he shadow boxes while Jay Deas tugs his todger.

Imagine if Wilder had a head trainer that actually knew how to form a strategy and wasn’t just there for the clout. He’d be phenomenal.

Wilder's biggest mistake was surrounding himself with yes men and buying into his own hype. Wilder would be extremely hard to beat if he had hired a better trainer and spent the last 10 years mastering the fundamentals and improving his fight IQ instead of being a 1 trick pony.

Davison is saying what I said months ago.

Wilder needed to windmill. Period. It was the only way.

Wilder needs to have his basketball body , fast and range ! His last two fights he was to top heavy which had a negative reaction to his punch output . He could have one of the best Jabs if he trained to throw it double even triple times . It would set up his killer right hand even a nice hook ! Ben knows he is a lot faster then fury so don’t fight his fight slow and rough ! Speed kills

Yes, you could see that happening. And when a fighter starts believing his own hype, especially hype like .. "Deontay only needs to be perfect for 2 seconds" you know he's heading for a loss.
