Don King makes perfect sense. You want someone with lots of money and a huge ego to fund all the dynamite costs. Zero principals are also a benefit since you need to renege on a previous contract giving the mountains to the Sioux Indians.

Don King on the Mount Rushmore of boxing would almost be like putting Aaron Hernandez on a NFL Mount Rushmore. Hell putting a promoter (or trainer) on a boxing Mount Rushmore would be like putting a Secretary of State or VP on the real Mount Rushmore.

Mount Rushmore was originally conceived as a monument to the west. Buffalo Bill. Crazy Horse. Lewis & Clark.

In the end, there were no western heroes, only the political elite.

Don King (an infamous promoter with a long career, internationally famous outside his sport) on the Mt Rushmore of boxing would be nothing like putting Aaron Hernandez (a player with a short career, largely unknown outside the US) on the Mt Rushmore of NFL. More like putting Bill Belichick (or, even better, Robert 'happy ending' Kraft) on the Mt Rushmore of NFL. Which would, let's face it, be all too believable.

1977 on forward, there are better fighters compared to this list. This is a mickey mouse list and a weak attempt, compared to others writers.
