It wasn’t an “illegal punch”. If it was such an egregious foul that changed the result of the fight, the WBC would have changed the result to a NC and returned the belt to Wilder. Before you say that can’t be done...just don’t, you already look silly as it is.

The reason why it isn’t an “illegal punch”...is because firstly, it quite clearly is not intentional. Secondly, it was not thrown at a static target; Wilder TURNED HIS HEAD. The punch hit the shoulder first. So no, it is not an illegal punch. What was supposed to happen? Fury get penalised because WILDER TURNED HIS HEAD TO A PUNCH? No. You know why? TURNING AWAY FROM A PUNCH AND EXPOSING THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD IS A FOUL. Two wrongs do not make a right, but when one wrong is the cause for the second wrong, the second wrong is unpunishable.

What was Fury supposed to do? Stop his punch in mid air because Wilder was turning away from the punch?
