That’s where the points based system can fail, when a boxer moves division. I rate Usyk highly and think he’s gonna become a force in the division for what little time he’ll be in it...but he simply hasn’t faced anybody to be legitimately mentioned in the top 10. I think his achievements at cruiserweight should give him an automatic pass into maybe the top 20...but 3? That’s where a points system fails lol

The only reason Wilder is a good name is because he had the belt for five years, nothing more. Parker was also a champion, also undefeated and also clearly a much better fighter than Wilder. AJ is ahead of Fury in my books because he’s inarguably faced the better quality opposition. Is that me saying AJ is better than Fury? Far from it. I think Fury would hand him a pretty comfortable boxing lesson. But based on opponents beaten, which is the only way you can compile logical ranking...AJ tops everybody.

Also, the man has held every major belt in the heavyweight division...but defended none. So that also says a lot when it comes to rankings.
Yea. I no longer in this debate if we are going to discredit Fury’s win over Klitschko first. That Klitschko 18th months later was mentally defeated. Prior to Fury beating him Klitschko was pretty much looking unbeatable.

I’m not discrediting his win, it was a great win...five years ago, before he stepped away from the sport and retired. That has a major impact on rankings. And about Klitschko being “mentally defeated”...none of us are Klitschko’s therapist, so nobody can really comment on that. But if anything, he was “mentally defeated” in the lead up and during the Fury fight. He was reinvigorated afterwards, hence wanting the immediate Fury rematch (twice) and staying in training during the 18 months he had off. If you really want to argue the Klitschko comparison, then there’s a solid case for AJ beating a better and more focused Klitschko than Fury did, but that’s all irrelevant. Fury’s win is indeed better than AJ’s, but it was five years ago and was followed by retirement.

People saying “but Fury beat Klitschko five years ago and now Wilder, he’s number 1”, is comparable to Ward returning, fighting a couple of nobodies, beating Billy Joe then everybody saying he’s number 1 due to his past achievements. Or Tyson returning, fighting McNeely and Mathis, beating Bruno for the WBC and all of a sudden he’s number 1 due to his past achievements. Not a chance.

And I’ll reiterate, this is not me saying AJ is better than Fury. Who’s better, hits harder or has more skill doesn’t affect rankings.

It's hard to disagree with this.....for me Joshua has only a punchers chance against Fury and we've seen how Fury deals with that.I know styles make fights but can't see Joshua beating Fury on points so were back to the one punch chance.

Fury within eight......He will make Joshua look like a novice.
