  • Comments Thread For: Froch: You've Got To Put Fury As No. 1 Heavyweight, Ahead Of Joshua

Carl Froch feels Tyson Fury has surpassed Anthony Joshua as boxing's best heavyweight. His upset points victory over long-reigning champion Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, coupled with the dominant manner in which Fury defeated Deontay Wilder last month, propelled Fury above Joshua on Froch's list. The retired Froch, a former IBF/WBA/WBC super middleweight champion, offered his rationale as part of Sky Sports' panel discussion on the topic Friday.

Completely disagree with this, Joshua's resume is far better than Fury's, especially when you take into account the length of Joshua's career and a number of fights

I'm sorry but given Fury is 5 years ahead of Joshua in his career - he doesn't deserve to be at no.1. Fury has fought one top-20 fighter (who was unproven himself) in 4 and half years and has never defended a title. If he really was this great fighter, then why such a poor record?

Fury is def top 5, Joshua is def top 3. Wilder is def top 5. This is all we know for certain at the moment.

if Aj has the record Fury has in 5 years time - he wouldn't deserve to be at no.1, so I'm not giving it to Fury based on his performance against one fighter.

          Fury is #1.

But we don't know who is #2 between Joshua and Wilder. They both took bad losses recently and would have to settle it in the ring.

Anthony Joshua is the #3 Heavyweight in the world until he does something to prove otherwise.

Tyson Fury, who btw- is building a reputation as a notorious cheat is still #1. Stop trying elect champions.

Anybody who isn't a fool or has extreme bias can't argue otherwise.

When Wilder and Fury fought it was for the ranking of #1 and #2 heavyweight.

AJ hasn’t even fought anyone since then and had just come off of a redemption fight against the #7 heavyweight. So how is AJ now #2?

This is why fights don’t happen. Because insecure fans would rather “elect,” a champion than let the natural order play out.

No debate.... AJ resume alone puts him at number, when compare to those who took 40 odd fights to not even get close to him.

I didn't understand why this was even a topic then I remembered...

joshua's gay muscle brigade considered him the #1 heavyweight in 2005 and will still consider him the #1 heavyweight if he loses to another noname.

So I guess it will always be a topic.
