  • Comments Thread For: Atlas: Training Ruiz Like Dealing With Drug Abuser; Has Problem With Eating

Teddy Atlas is interested in training Andy Ruiz Jr. But before Atlas would agree to take that assignment, the veteran trainer wants Ruiz to fly to New York to spend a few days in the gym with him. Atlas needs to get a feel for how coachable Ruiz would be if they were locked in a two-month training camp together, and if Ruiz is truly committed to changing his conditioning and eating habits.

Ruiz shoulda apologized and kept the same trainer. It was clearly his fault, what happens when he lose with his new trainer? Point the finger and switch again?

I guess the trainer stuffed snickers bars and tacos down his throat.I couldn’t believe he pulled this crap all he needed was someone show him buster Douglas and how he prepared For Holyfield after pulling the biggest upset ever.

I'd tend to agree with you since his advice in the corner seems more motivational than strategic. However, respected boxers such as Michael Moore and Tim Bradley seemed to speak very highly of his abilities as a coach and teaching them new things.

Robles trashed Andy to the media after the AJ loss, this clown Teddy has been trashing Andy every chance he gets. Andy should get a good lowkey trainer like Buddy Mcgirt

I get why folks are saying negative stuff about teddy, he's old school and that's how those old trainers think,,, but I don't think he can help Andy, the truth is Andy is comfortable and will remain that way untill some of the cash flow runs out

Teddy Atlas should be low key about Ruiz. He needs to filter what comes out his mouth. If I were Ruiz, I would tell him to go take a hike after hearing those remarks.

Take a hike? For what, telling the truth? Ruiz needs discipline instead of being enabled. He's supposed to be a professional, but comes into the rematch at 285. Someone needs to instill a harder "work ethic" in him and Teddy may do it. If Ruiz will listen.

You idiots are here sticking up for this fat chump loser Ruiz. Unbelievable hahah. He ate himself out of a title and now he is looking elsewhere for redemption and inspiration. BS. He had it all and partied it away like a dumbassss and then made excuses afterwards. And you idiots STILL think he is worth a damn??!? Teddy Atlas is right on point with his comments and Ruiz is a fat turd who will never be anything close to a champion again. The End
