Another aspect of the context here is that Fury wants to grab a couple more big paydays in the next 12 months, and then retire. If that’s his plan, he can’t let this or that allegation bog down the big plan.

So you’re right that it’s not a good look, but I think he’s trying to be practical. If he had 10 more years of boxing ahead of him, then he might be more motivated to contest the allegations - even in a dishonest way - but opening his mouth now won’t help the situation at all, and can only serve to derail the “2 more fights” plan.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. When you want to report a crime in the UK, you take it straight to the Daily Mail.

Nice to see the papers are reporting Fury faces an 8 yr ban. It's very real.
IF the allegations are investigated and turn out to be true.

"If" is a small word with huge implications. Don't get your hopes up pal.

Seriously though, Frank Warren said Carefoot contacted him asking for money. Presumably, he was asking for money to keep quiet, which is blackmail.

Peter Fury, if anyone is deserving of a eight-year ban its your useless son Hughie. He has been rewarded world-title opportunities and final eliminators, in spite of abusing steroids and apparently is linked in bribing and swindling a poor farmer.

You are the prime suspect as the bag-man in my eyes Peter, given your days of drug dealing and the time you spent in the slammer. Your licence as a boxing trainer should also be revoked, as you too were involved with Tyson and certainly your son during Hughie and Tyson's robberies of Andriy Rudenko and Christian Hammer in 2015.

It’s obvious! An admitted perjurer coming to the media because “I just want the lies to stop” is beyond silly. When the attempted blackmail fails, he suddenly has a conscience.

WOW, the allegations continue to pile up! Now they “swindled” a poor farmer? What’d they do, borrow his plow and fail to return it? Failing to complete an illegal transaction does not constitute a “swindle”.

Hughie and Tyson's robberies of Andriy Rudenko and Christian Hammer in 2015.
And now they’re robbing people too. Were the robberies armed and/or aggravated? Wow.

Too much hyperbole, man. Too much rhetoric. The Team Fury victories in question were vacated, and those opponents were beaten by enough other guys to have precluded either one of them ever getting a title shot.
