He should have had a come from behind win against Buster Douglas but the ref skrewed him.

Long count at the end of round 8. Tyson comes out looking to finish Buster in 9, until Buster is allowed to crack and rock Mike on the break. The follow up barrage knocked whatever chance he had right out of him. Was then KO’d in the 10th.

Sexual assault or atlas didn't want a man from the streets touching his goody goody niece...

Sorry but if he really did do something to the kid then he should of went to the cops, instead he committed a crime in his own right.

And Mike was never gonna be a underdog in his prime to anybody in boxing at that time or anytime in history for that matter. Vegas would favor Tyson against Jesus in the 80s

Tyson lost all of his fights post prison except for the Douglas fight. It's impossible to go to prison for 3 years and come back the same fighter. He was never gonna be the baddest man in a boxing ring again. Prison breaks the body down just likeit does the mind.

In his prime he was 19 years old bodying *****. There will never be a 20 year old heavyweight champion ever.

        Show Tyson his proper respect.
I wonder if people will also admit that serving 75% of your sentence in solitary confinement changes a man.... He had either prisoners coming after him or guards who hated him... Also PLENTY of people in the Catskills training camps have disputed Atlas story.

Also putting a gun to the head of a 15 year old is real "Manly". Atlas contributed to part of Tyson's Mental "weakness" with a Po$ move like that.

Lol I love Teddy Atlas for this, in a new world where everyone seems to be glorifying and worshipping this useless rapist now, Teddy's the only one who tells the truth about him.

And he's right about this one which is why Tyson never beat a great fighter despite facing several while having the opportunity to face several more which he didn't.

Overrated, one-dimensional bully with barely a brain and ruined his career, who couldn't overcome adversity and never beat a great one, that's a realistic memory of Tyson. Not this BS "GOAT level fighter and sage" that his fanboys are finally able to portray him as.

He was there for a very good reason, don't pity the dirtbag for being there. He did it all to himself.

For the latter, if anything with the way Cus was allowing Tyson to get away with everything, Atlas was the only one who showed him that there are consequences for your actions.

Without that incident, Tyson probably ****s a chick much earlier and doesn't get to go on his bum of the month tour which made him the GOAT in the fanboy eyes.

But really, you just made excuses for 2 horrible things he did and got punished for. That's Typical. This is why he has so many "haters" and can never get his ***** together. He's not "manly". Never will be, his father wasn't there from the start.

And he also got bullied when he was young.

But every day he would fight that bully take a beating but he would fight because that is who he was.

Tyson could have fought and take his beating but he ran and hid.
Great example with GSP. A fighter who took a devastating loss, came back later and destroyed that opponent in a rematch, and has had a number of fights where he got hurt and almost lost but still ended up winning.

I have to agree. Atlas is looked upon with doe eyed wonder by some boxing heads, but his opinions can be as flawed as anyone else's. Just because he is Teddy Atlas does not make him right.
Mike Tyson has been through so much in his life, he is remarkably sane for someone who has walked his path. Amazing fighter too, one of the atg heavyweights

Mike gets all the respect and more. Everyone paid to see him. He was a great entertainer. But he’s not as good a fighter as his hardcore fans think and it was proven. Only Mike Tyson could lose in the biggest upset in boxing history. His head movement, Jab, footwork, is more myth than reality. We all love the guy. But people who say “Prime” Tyson beats everybody, already got too many of his fights wrong to be viable.

Douglas was unstoppable that night, and Holyfield and Lewis were elite when Tyson fought them. By the time Tyson lost to Williams and McBride, he was way past his prime.

Douglas would've given anyone hell at the time, considering what he was dealing with outside the ring. Tyson did lose, but it's not like he quit. He fought as well as he could, and tried to get up while he was barely conscious. You make it sound like he pulled a "No mas."

I get that Atlas is still pissed at Tyson, which is why I don't expect him to be fair, when covering Tyson.

I've been saying for yrs that Teddy Atlas is a closet white supremacist,he hides it well but its obvious imho
