I take A's point about the "staying on your feet" bit, but it seems unfair that some boxers can lose an extra point for being KD'd when they might just be offbalance...
its their fault for being off balance. besides, whos to judge who was off balance or not? the ref, thats who. ricky hit collazo with a huge left hook that put collazo flat onto his back and ended up in a position that looked like he just got KTFOd.

that wasnt a flash KD and it sure as hell wasnt cuz collazo was off balance. ricky hit him with the mother of all left hooks and for him to be cheated out of a 10-8 round when collazo couldnt have been more down is bull****.

its unfair to the fighter who scores the KD but in ur opinion was because the other fighter was off balance. a KD is a KD and collazo was KTFDd.

    off balance, my ass.

I didn't say Collazo was off balance, that was a non-specific example.

I'll discuss **** with you, but not with flames, brother.

it wasnt an intended flame. i was just saying that KD was very legit.

i dont expect the ref to say "KD! oh wait, nvm. his feet were planted so it doesnt count."

this is boxing. nothing is fair. absolutely nothing is fair. some calls are bull****, some arent.

In the Joel Julio vs Quintana I gave Quintana a 10-8 round.

I absolutely would score rounds 10-8 with no knockdowns, and the Baldomir-Judah example is right on the money. Judah not only was very hurt, he literally turned away and ran from Baldomir. How do you NOT score that 10-8?

Also, if a guy gets knocked down and is in really bad shape, but gets up and survives...even if it's "only" one knockdown, I would consider a 10-7 score for that round. To do it, the fighter who was down would have to get hurt again after recovering from the knockdown and do very little in return. If he fought back bravely and stayed off the canvas for a second time, I would keep it at 10-8.

It's all a judgment call, right? What about a round where fighter A scores a flash knockdown on fighter B, then fighter B gets up and floors A with a strong, legit KD? 10-9 for B, right?
