      Maidana was a tough guy no doubt, but he gets tons of credit for the floyd fights where mostly he was very agressive but wild, smothered his own work constantly, fought very dirty with the elbows, head, and forearms ... and fortunaltely for him ... the refs in both fights allowed a lot of it (probaby to patronize fans who wanted so badly for someone to rough up Floyd).

      I'll re-watch those fights one day, but I don't remember a huge skill advance from Maidana in those fights. He stepped up the pressure but was caught clean many times paying for it (my memory anyway). A younger, prime Floyd would have left him like Hatton.
