Ken Porter as Wilder & Ruiz new Trainer

What do you think? Better or worse for Wilder?

Personally I like it, if Wilder would allow someone to impose their priorities on his training regimen. I think his boxing technique would gain a lot. Kinda late in his career, but new focus after a loss is usually refreshing. Did Porter have him as an Olympian?

Also, I like Ken Porter training Ruiz. Again, if Ruiz submits to the discipline that would be insisted on by Porter, this would be a great benefit In Ruiz's consistency and career.

    Your thoughts?

PS - If either happens I'm gonna want a fee from K. Porter, LoL.

Porter is way to damn bossy and pushy. no proud boxer will allow anyone to talk to them the way he talks to his son.

He's worked with the Olympic Team, obviously he doesn't treat them all like his son. That's a special relationship. He can work with other fighters though.

A fighter or any athlete for that matter, should look for a trainer that knows their ****. If you're looking for a motivator or disciplinarian, you'll never reach greatness because the great ones already have that in them.

You're basically saying, if Wilder and Ruiz had trainers they listened to they'd be better off. That's a them problem.

Iam not sure the problem with wilder or ruiz is the trainers lol . Mark breland was tall and long and had a great jab . All wilder needs to do more is jab at this point . Like I just said in another thread to switch his game up too much at this point would be suicide . But if he fought behind a good hard jab he would not be losing fights with the gerald Washington's and spilkas of the world before landing the money shot....maybe wilder is in love with his power and doesnt listen to what breland has to say, as for deas the man is useless as **** on a nun and is NOT a top trainer ,wilder should dump jay and move forward with breland as his head trainer and bring in someone else good for his chief second . And as for ruiz ...well haha the problem is clearly not his trainer , manny robels is a great trainer but ruiz doesnt seem to listen to anyone he has in his corner becusse if he did he would come to fight IN SHAPE . at the end of the day I dont think wilder should try and change to much except to rely on his jab instead of a full on right hand . Wilder actually has a decent underrated jab when he decides to use it,unfortunately I've never seen him use it wisely and with authority except for the first stiverne fight . And well ruiz is just ruiz I think his 15 min are up . He should fight kownacki next . He has fast hands he needs to be in shape to utilize them to his full potential and focus on his underrated boxing . He could make some real noise. Ruiz is not a big puncher like the first joshua fight Made him out to be . He is a veteran boxer who's been at it since he was 5 , for a heavyweight ( especially in this day and age ) he is a very good combination puncher ,unfortunately for andy hes rarely in good enuff shape to utilize these gifts . I dont ever expect ruiz to look like an Adonis but I would think he would want to get into top shape so he can make some noise . He was a legit top 10 heavy before he fought AJ he just wasnt ranked becuase he lost all momentum he had ever gained with his top rank dispute and instead of eating the world he should have used that time to stay in the gym and get his weight down to 250 and stay in shape !!!

I think Robert Garcia is better after what he did with Maidana.... He didn't change him but added things to his game. And it made a big difference.

You change Wilder too much and its liable to backfire

What exactly would Kenny Porter teach them? No offense but he seems more like a strength and conditioning coach
