No such thing as “current Maidana.” Only 140 which was his prime.

I wouldn't say so yet, I think people give Khan a lot of stick, and rightly so at times, but at the same time, forget just how good he was at one time, if he had an 8/10 chin, he would have been top 5 P4P. He's finished now, chin is worse than ever after the Canelo shot, speed is way down, still fast, but not lightning, still has the heart to continue after a beating, he was taking a beating from Crawford and was still fighting on, I think with the lowbrow, he got brainfreeze and must have thought he could escape that fight with a no contest.

I’d say so. Taylor would’ve been too tough and too good for any version of Khan.

Look at what he’s done in 16 fights too. Won that tournament, ring magazine champ, won 2 belts. He beat Postol in about 12 fights, that still may be Crawford’s best win.

For 16 fights, he’s had very tough competition. Postol, Prograis, Baranchyk etc.

The only people in the game with those kind of achievements after so little fights are the likes of Usyk and Loma, and people put them right up there at the top.

I think Taylor is a genuine top level fighter or will be, i don’t believe Khan ever really was. Khan was just a good world level fighter but never going to rule any division.

Khan’s chin wasn’t his only problem

He had unintelligent footwork and would make mistakes by staying in range to get caught with the right shot. He had problems sticking to a game plan because his ring IQ was never great. He did a few times, but he could often be drawn into someone else’s fight.

He had great speed, but never knew how to use it against the better fighters.

So you can’t just say “if x fighter had *interest attribute* he would be a great” because that can apply to almost anybody. If Malignaggi had power, If Joe Joyce had speed etc.

They don’t, so it is what it is.

After Garcia took Chino on, he helped his game considerably. He humiliated Broner, and gave Floyd two hellish fights.

I think that version of Chino is way better than the version who got dropped heavily by, and couldn't put away, chinny Khan.

I know what you're saying, but chin isn't really an attribute, how your head, body and mind react to being hurt is something that's born onto you. Whereas you can work at becoming faster, at technique and power.
