What can Wilder adjust to win W/F III?

Fury, with the top preparation, game plan, and mindset in Wilder-Fury II goes into the trilogy fight with all of the momentum and advantages ... he scored a clear victory in II. What can Wilder do in III?

First Wilder neess to come in (as he did) at 232 lbs or better, but it needs to be trained, cadio-ed, lean muscle and strength ... not just added weight. His upper body needs to be stronger.

His defense must be better. Boxing is hit without being hit. Kownacki/Helenius showed that even with a blistering attack you can be caught and stopped. A great attack alone only works if you are prepared to run when needed, wrestle when needed, have outstanding defense, or have such an overwhelming attack that your opponent can't work.

Not only does Wilder need strength overall, he needs much better balance. These are things a good, focused camp can improve. Fury is a large, mobile guy. If he remains the new attacking, added weight and power Fury ... Wilder has to be prepared for a long dangerous fight. Strength and balance, coupled with better defensive plans are a must.

Much better stamina. Fury's stamina never was tested in II. Wilder's was abysmal. In III Wilder needs to be prepared to go long and hard in battle ... moving, defending successfully, attacking successfully (not just searching for a KO). Wilder is blessed that he can hurt you any time with a punch or combination, but he has to have a multi-round fight PLAN as to how he will dismantle Fury. Thinking on your feet is always good, but it doesn't replace a properly thought out plan over 12 rounds.

There are other changes that would be good. I wasn't sure there would be enough time between fights, but corona-virus may add the needed time. What do you guys/gals think?

PS - I would agree that Wilder could change/strengthen many things and still lose. This version of Fury is a huge challenge. If he continues to progress under Kronk in his strength, training, and game-planning, it will be very tough.

Wilder is made of glass - glass chin and glass body.

He would’ve to turn himself into a stone man to have a chance!

A new trainer is a must for me, look what Sugar Hill Steward did for Fury...

Deas has taken Wilder as far as he can there is a HUGE gap between being an amateur and professional coach. I admire Wilder’s loyalty but at the end of the day only one person is taking the punches.

Wilder would have to go to an offensive coach, he needs to make it a fire fight and hope he catches Fury early and manages to take him out. If they begin to box, Fury will outclass him and start to simply beat him up again.

Someone like Manny Steward (RIP) would be ideal. Maybe Abel Sanchez, he’s worked with HW’s in the past and promotes an offensive style.

Whether he gets a new trainer or not, I still make Fury a considerable favourite as he would be against any HW, but with that power Wilder will always have a punchers chance.

I don’t agree on the weight he took Tysons punches fine when he was lighter and he was more dynamic. He already hits hard he should of never added more weight which may have helped hamper his stamina and slow him down. Fury doesn’t hit hard enough to need to gain weight. What he needed was speed and mobility like the first Stiverne fight where he was fighting off the back foot and throwing a strong jab. He needs to throw a jab to Furys body to keep that distance while disrupting Furys rhythm. and he needs a voice in his corner that he will listen too that can tell him how to adjust. His team is complacent and have stunted his growth at this age IDK if he can adjust but hopefully he can get back to moving and throwing.

Land the right hand. Don't wear a 40 lb suit.

With these ped accusations against Fury, Fury could be compromised now. He could be forced to throw the fight. If the fight is level, Wilder has no chance because he's a rigged fraud with the skills of a golden gloves amateur novice.

Wilder needs to bring a consistent jab. Which would at least allow him to neutralize some of what Fury does. Not just look to catch him with the right hand.

The first fight, Fury was coming off the lay-off. Second time around, Fury clearly was able to do more during his preparation and his body, and his game plan showed this.

Wilder needs to be at his normal weight, jab, and setup his right. He can’t outbox Fury but he can do some things to offset his rhythm by consistently jabbing.

The main thing he can do is just NOT show up. That will help his career.

Stand his ground more and stop backing up. Maybe some lead right hands so he’s not so predictable. And most importantly stand like a freakin boxer and not like a baseball player. He can’t see the right hand when he’s facing the other way.
