I really hope Usyk stands his ground
Fugh Eddie , he earned his spot and if he offers step aside money , we’ll then go for broke
Eddie knows that AJ will suffer another loss and is getting desperate instead of taking care of the task at hand , which is Pulev
He’s just putting more pressure on AJ , which is not needed right now especially after the way he fought against a fighter who was in terrible shape

Usyk vs the top heavyweights should look like Floyd vs all those slightly bigger but much slower less skilled welterweights, like Carlos Baldomir vs Floyd or something like that. Only difference is Floyd still had the reach on all of them, but Usyk hits harder than Floyd even at heavyweight, throws way more punches, has a lot of advantage categories compared to Floyd in his own right.

Usyk could legitimately run heavyweight for the next 10 years if that's the route they decide to go. Cruiserweights could barely touch him after the first few rounds of their fights, and the top heavyweights are generally less agile than the top cruiserweights...

I think Fury vs Usyk is a good match though. I'd like to see that next more than Usyk vs Joshua.
      Usyk is Floyd now
I think I'd consider smacking you if you said that to me in person.

I see Usyks style as a really bad match up for AJ.

He made the right adjustments for the Ruiz rematch, but anyone with eyes could see that he fought scared. He was visibly uncomfortable whenever he got caught up in an exchange.

And an uncomfortable fighter is definitely vulnerable fighter
He’ll always be second guessing himself , becoming gun shy , worried to throw because he’s expecting return fire not knowing if he can handle it

Good for Usyk. If they have you as the next in line to get a shot at the title then everyone needs to honor that.

I get the whole prize fighting aspect of boxing and I enjoy it to an extent. I also enjoy watching good matchups over money grabs.

Half if not all of this year looks set in stone already, only time will tell if we get to set Usyk against a top HW. His endurance alone will be trouble for a majority of the division.

Anyone can hit harder than Floyd in his 4th weight class, but we actually don’t know how effective Usyk’s power is at HW at the top level. Witherspoon and Chisora won’t show much either.

When I think about a fighter’s power, I think about the best fighters they have beaten.

The best fighters on Usyk’s resume are:

              Breidis (decision, no kd’s)
              Gassiev (decision, no kd’s)
              Glowacki (decision, no kd’s)
              Huck (TKO)
              Hunter (decision, 1 official kd)
              Bellew (TKO)

So he actually doesn’t have a ton of power at the top level. With that said, AJ’s chin is suspect enough that if Usyk catches him with a good combination, he can get the TKO.

My main point is saying that a fighter has more power than Mayweather, who was not known to have a lot of power at 147-154, isn’t saying much. The majority (27 fights) of Floyd’s fights were fought at 130lbs, where he scored 21 KO’s (77% KO).

It is an easier transition for Usyk to go to HW, than it is for Mayweather to go from 130 to 147-154. The success rate of fighters who started their pro careers at 130 and went to campaign at 147/154, isn’t very good. I can see Usyk struggle to put top HW’s away, unless they have a suspect chin.

Usyk needs to remember that he's only fought Witherspoon at HW. I know sanctioning bodies grant title shots to titlists when they move up, but I've always personally disagreed with the idea. He needs to face someone higher on the totem pole than Chisora for me to feel like he's undoubtedly earned a title shot. AJ/Fury should still be a higher priority with Usyk being the back-up plan.

This guy would get sparked by Chisora and there goes his shot.

I would be surprised if he doesn't pull out of that fight as well.

These are interesting words by the Ukrainian gangster. Who on earth would try to screw Usyk? Haymon wilder? Joshua Hearn know they have to face Usyk.

Usyk seems to KNOW he will roll over Chisora without a doubt. The hwt division is very interesting right now

Usyk has not fought anyone at HW.

                      Weatherspoon does not count!!
