you Floyd haters gotta stop....The second fight was a clear win for Floyd it was more of a clear decision then the first....Floyd landed almost 30 more punches in total and landed at just short of a 20% higher percentage for all punches and landed 22% higher rate of power punches... Yes Castillo landed more “power shots” buts that’s because he threw so many, he threw something like 50 more power shots in the second fight then the first and landed 70 something less punches...Also one of the judges had it 116-112 and multiple other boxing outlets also scored it 116-112...watch the fight, Floyd is obviously in control then Castillo makes a rally in the middle rounds(where Merchant gave at least one round to Castillo I totally disagreed with) then Floyd obviously takes over again and by the end Castillo was visibly a beaten fighter...

Floyd is retired, his legacy is set just say you don’t like him and move on, stop tryna act like he wasn’t the best of his generation because he was and you look crazy tryna say otherwise...at the end of the day your harping on a “close fight” like Roy Jones, Ali, Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard and all the other greats didn’t have a bunch of close fights...give it up talk about active fighters!

There should have been a 3rd fight

Because that’s their usual go to response everytime anyone brings up castillo. “Oh but he rematched him immediately and schooled him so that cleans it up” lol

Thought the first one could’ve gone either way. Second one was a clear floyd win but he didn’t school nor dominate anybody nor proved that the first one ain’t close.

2nd maidana fight was awful man, bayless wouldn’t even allow maidana to get close, fight inside or thru the clinch.. that was ugly and one sided refereeing.. and he didn’t even warn floyd about all the holding.. i’ve never complained about clinches as much as in that fight. And i never dared watched it again on replay.

So i give more credit to floyd’s maidana I win.. he weathered the storm, the rough tactics plus the cut. Stepped his offense up in the second half of the fight knowing he was behind. The second one the environment was just too controlled for him to win..

And Floyd did not "run" against Maidana. He made him miss. That's the point. Big difference.
It was on that first take show on Espn, it was recently. Smith called Oscar a runner and said he was b i t c h made in the Trinidad fight.

It was awhile ago and I just remember watching it at a bar.

I think Wlad fought McCline on the same card and whole card was forgettable.

I just remember Floyd outboxing castillo after making adjustments and it was nowhere near close as the first one. Floyd won clearly.

I know, both guys are out of the game and this thread is N/A since Floyd clearly won, why is he talked about so much on here still? Hes 43 years old and will likely never fight again.

Oscar literally ran in the last few rounds of the Trinidad fight that's the difference.
