How damaging is it mentally to lose to the same fighter twice?

It would be demoralizing for many fighters but the ones who can overcome defeat are the ones that Can separate themselves from the rest.

      Oscar scared??? Behave...😂😂

Oscar is a lot of things but that guy fought everyone, he wasn’t scared of anyone.

It depends on the fighter and the circumstances. Was it a close fight? Was it closer than the first fight? Was the decision fair?

And is the fighter resilient? Did they lose to someone on the P4P list? top-10? titlist? journeyman?

There are plenty of variables to consider.

I didn't say he was scared of someone,I said scared of taking punishment late in fights. Rewatch the tito fight again if you want to say otherwise. He LITERALLY ran for his life the last few rds after easily outboxing tito early on. The worst part of what he did was that there was no reason in that fight in any way shape or form for him to not just keep outboxing tito, that will live on as the ******est decision a boxer ever done in what was then billed as the fight of the millennium

            Ike Quartey would disagree...

Oscar felt he was ahead so decided to tactically box off the back foot. It had nothing to do with being “scared to take punishment”.

Funny you beat me to bringing up ike quartey,Ike quartey LITERALLY beat the breaks off DlH for majority of the fight winning almost every rd on my card at that time, then because dlh threw LITERALLY more punches with the kitchen sink than I've ever seen in a single rd late in that fight he was given the worst robbery decision I'd ever seen at the time.

I remember being young at that time & watching it with a huge dlh fan,but I couldn't hide my disgust at Ike getting robbed like that.(I remember thinking if theres a 10 pt must system & dlh did nothing except that 1 single rd,how in the fck can he have possibly won;robbery of all robberies, dlh lost that fight CLEARLY far worse than any other fight besides pac when he was cooked already)

It seems to have had a bad effect on Wilder.

I thought that fight was close tbh. I think I had it 113-112 Quartey but I wouldn’t have complained if people scored it to Oscar by a point or so but the cards in favour of Oscar were far too wide. I remember the British judge was the only guy who went for Quartey.

When was the last time you watched it?(I honestly haven't rewatched it in yrs & although it was a complete whitewash except for 1 rd that was dlh greatest rd of all time (& possibly any fighter losing greatest rd where opponent wouldn't get kod, quartey is a beast for standing through it),I fail to see how anyone can say dlh won let alone by 2 pts as 2 judges scored(but he didn't lose the rds he lost by very much,I felt like Ike was getting the best of him throughout).

Quartey should've imho won by at least a few rds aka he should've won by at least 2 pts dlh somehow won by, compubox seemingly agrees considering mostly every rd except oscars rd,he was outlanded heavily, even though he landed a shtton of punches in that rd)

I would love to hear your scorecard if you rewatch it now.

Either way that fight is a fight I will never forget & back then I didn't see ike as a challenge to dlh so admittingly maybe my card was overly wide

Mosley lost to Forrest twice in a row, went on to become champion again. Then lost twice in a row to winky, then went on to become champion again.

Hopkins lost to jermaine Taylor twice in a row, went on to be champion many more times.
