  • Rahman: "If I Lose, I Let My Country Down"

Feeling the pressure of the upcoming fight, WBC heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman (41-5-2, 33 KOs) is looking to make a big statement against Oleg Maskaev (32-5, 25 KOs), when the two rivals meet in Las Vegas on August 12. Initially, the campaign for the rematch began with the storyline of Rahman seeking revenge on Maskaev for a 1999 knockout loss. Not long after the bout was signed, Top Rank, the lead promoter of the HBO pay-per-view fight, focused on the storyline of Rahman being the only American heavyweight champion left standing, and Maskaev looking to beat him for the European sweep of the heavyweight titles. lol.

Rahman keeps pushing the "Nationality Issue".

Maskaev is a Naturalized American Citizen and openly stated he's a ****ing American who's fighting for us.

Sorry Fresh Prince of Bell Air.....I'll take the good ol boy.

            haha.

It reminds me of the movie "The Great White Hype". Just different.

"Irish" Terry Konklin. He's like: "I'M NOT IRISH".

Maskaev is an American and they're about two steps from having him pose in front of a red flag with a hammer and sickle, wearing a fur hat and coat.

if Rahman will win he should unify with other champions especially Wlad.
