He would be a title contender, I don't think anybody is really stopping him ether.

Mercer beats Wilder, but Fury & Joshua are tougher fights etc

Mercer never had those dimensions. He never fought with that sense of urgency. He wasn't a south paw. And MAYBE he didn't even have that chin.

Oh and what did Wallin do that night? Win about THREE rounds. That's it! But hey ... it's 3 more rounds than the best Mercer would have won.
If Mercer fought Lennox Lewis tough then I think he could push Fury too. We agree that Tyson Fury wins though

I think it's only fair If a person jumps into another conversation it's proper that they post why think it's incorrect. Not some vague references to another fighter with a good chin who had a dismal record. I think that reasonable people would agree that is a totally irrelevant point.
        .
A simple "I'm wrong, sorry" would suffice.

          No.

Fury has a much better chin, is much larger, he don't have confidence issues. He devours Lewis.

Joshua is less refined than Lewis and similarly possesses a less than perfect chin. So it's feasible HE would get pressured like Lewis. But he learned his lesson against Ruiz: he'd fight on the backfoot to secure a wide, if uninspiring, decision.

Wilder might struggle badly - worse than Lewis did - but eventually his power would prevail.

I like Mercer and admit todays guys have their *****. But they're all too big and athletic to lose to him.
